Meet the Owners

Hello and welcome to the Team! Our names are Tanis and Fernando and we’d love to tell you a bit about us. We met the way many great salon love stories begin—working side by side at diPietro Todd Salon. What started as two young stylists learning to perfect their crafts eventually became a partnership in life, in family, and in business.

Fernando has been immersed in the world of hairstyling since childhood, coming from a family of hair stylists. After completing a three-year apprenticeship and later becoming an educator with diPietro Todd and René Furterer, he built a reputation for precision cutting, innovative style, and a passion for continued learning. His career has taken him from the classroom to New York Fashion Week, and his artistry shows in every guest who sits in his chair.

Tanis began her journey in 2007 and quickly developed a love for color. After training at Paul Mitchell and graduating from the diPietro Todd Academy, she honed her signature style: bright blondes, reflective brunettes, dimensional reds, and soft, lived-in color. Guests know her for her genuine warmth, attention to detail, and deep knowledge of modern color techniques.

In 2018, they opened Art + Gold Salon with two of their closest friends, creating a space centered on education, artistry, and community. Seven years later, they are excited to launch their next chapter: The Alchemy Room Salon.

At home, life is full and joyful with their two boys (6 and 8), their four pets, and a love of adventure. Traveling, bike riding, skiing, and snowboarding keep them inspired—and their shared passion for creativity carries through from the salon to the rest of their lives.
